2021 Chandler City Championship

Notice to Competitors and Tournament Information Sheet

Format:  36-hole individual stoke play event.

USGA Rules govern all play except where modified by local rules:

    • Out of Bounds: Defined by surrounding property lines, all roadways, and sidewalks, rule 27-1. The practice facility is considered in bounds.  A ball which crosses a public road defined as out of bounds and comes to rest beyond that road is out of bounds, even though it may lie on another part of the course.
    • 150 Yard Markers: Movable obstruction - rule 24-1
    • Water Hazards:   All water hazards are defined as lateral water hazards, rule 26-1.  The hazards shall be identified by the turf-side edge of the artificial bank.  No Ocotillo Golf Club drop zones are in play.
    • All bridges over the water hazards are an integral part of the golf course.  No relief is allowed. Grounding of the golf club is permissible.
    • No relief allowed from beautification areas/flower beds.
    • All wooden posts in hazard areas are deemed as part of the hazard.  No relief is allowed.
    • USGA approved distance measuring devices will be permitted throughout play, rule 14-3
    • Stones in Bunkers are to be treated as movable obstructions.  Relief is available as indicated in Rule 24-1. We will be allowing players to use "preferred lies" in all bunkers for the Championship. Please announce to your playing partners that you will be moving your golf ball and keeping it within ONE club length, no closer to the whole, before playing your next shot
    • Sod Seams: Except in a hazard, sod seams (not the sod itself) are deemed to be ground under repair, and relief is available under Rule 25-1 if the ball lies in or touches a sod seam or the sod seam interferes with the area of intended swing.

Time of StartingRule 6-3a states that if a player arrives at his starting point, within five minutes after his starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes at the first hole in stroke play. Otherwise, the penalty for a breach of this Rule is disqualification.

Caddies: Caddies are allowed during tournament rounds and must ride with their player

Tee MarkersAll players will play from the Gold tee markers.

FlagsticksFlagsticks may be left in or taken out based on each group’s preference.

Pairings for Round 2: Pairings will be available on OcotilloGolf.com OR the Golf Genius event portal you received access to when you registered for the Championship by 7pm on Saturday, June 6th.

Playoff: If a playoff is necessary for the gross medalist, play will begin on TBD#1 and continue on the TBD golf course in numerical sequence.  If there is no daylight to start or continue a playoff, a scorecard playoff will determine the champion by starting on the #1 handicap hole on the Gold golf course and will continue in succession with the next hardest handicap holes of the Blue  golf course.  If the scorecard playoff needs to continue, the scorecard playoff will continue in succession of the 3rd, 4th, etc of the Gold/Blue course rotation.

Prizes: Players are eligible for prizes in Gross or Net divisions.  Players are not eligible for prizes in both Gross and Net divisions.  If a player places in both divisions, the player will be awarded the larger prize.
